Well, at least McNabb doesn’t sound bitter, right? For a guy who went to 5 NFC Championships and 1 Super Bowl and kind of fizzled out at the tail end of his career, he’s really taking the high road here when talking about Romo who’s only won one playoff game in his life. Here’s McNabb who holds almost all the records as a QB in Eagles history and got kicked to the curb at the end of his career by the team he had been with for life. And here’s Romo, winner of 1 playoff game and been a Cowboy all his life and now he’s getting $108M. I mean if I were McNabb I’d probably be pissed, but clearly Donovan thinks this is a good contract. This is also coming from a guy who when quesioned about his weight only a year ago thought it was because he was too strong.
“It’s not really about that,” McNabb insisted. “Because for me, people may have seen how strong I look. And they kind of equated that to ‘he may be out of shape,’ or whatever. But now that I’m lighter, people now all of a sudden say ‘well oh, now he’s in shape.’ “I’ve been in shape.”
Finally someone who gets it. Here I am a 20-something out of college, maybe not in my peak physical condition, but by no means does that mean I’m fat. It just means I’m strong. I don’t get how that couldn’t make any more sense.
